"Dear Mary, Just to say thanks for everything yesterday. It was very refreshing to find somewhere that surpassed our expectations and fulfilled everything we had been hoping for. Your homemade scones and cakes were delicious - my mother particularly enjoyed the Victoria sponge which was apparently one of the nicest she had ever had!! She has recently had a spell in hospital and had been looking forward to a 'special' tea together once she was back to better health so we really appreciated all your special touches. I am sure we will visit again when we are in the area, and will certainly recommend you to our family and friends. yours sincerely Michael"

"We met Mary & Hugh last September when I was treated to a very special weekend away, our stay was so romantic. Earlier this year when Tim proposed,our first choice was to get married at Strand House. After discussion with Mary the venue was booked. Mary assisted with all the hard work and helped to plan our wedding. We arrived last weekend and the hotel was all we could have dreamed of decorated in flowers of my favourite kind. All our guests were made welcome it was like a large extended family home. Mary Hugh and her team were stars. A Friday evening buffet supper of execellent food allowed us all to catch up before the big day! The morning arrived and the panic set in, Mary was there to help reassure me when the nerves got to much.(I will always remember that I was so worried about falling down the stairs on the way to the ceremony that mary had me rehearsing them like my personal trainer whilst she stood at the bottom with a glass of champagne before she said again and sent me up to do it over again!)The ceremony was glorious in front of the fire place I became Mrs Brown. What followed was a wedding breakfast which was more that we could of dreamed of, our first night as husband and wife in a beautiful four poster bed and following breakfast the next morning with all our friends and family a relaxed day for us both to reflect on the memories of what can only be described as a fairy tail wedding. Words can not express how grateful we were to Mary and her team especially Richard and Toni. We will see you all again in a few weeks when we come back for our honey moon."

"I just had to write and say an enormous "Thank You" for making Tim and Belinda's wedding on 18th July so wonderful. Please convey my appreciation to all your staff particularly Richard who was "ever-present" from morning till late into the evening. You all could not have done more and so willingly too! Mary you worked so tirelessly, I don't know how you managed it, and all with a smile. The food from the buffet on Friday evening, the wedding breakfast on Saturday and through to breakfast on Sunday morning was excellent. Your efforts made the special occasion, exceptional. I will remember you all on the 18th next year and be wishing Mary a Happy Birthday, and I shall be praising you all to my friends and encouraging them to enjoy your hospitality."
