Rye's main food festival of the year will see events, special menus and other activities around the town. Strand House will be putting on a seasonal menu for the duration of the festival and will have full details of the Festival for you in-house. Look out for our special offers.

Strand House has been chosen by top travel writer, Alastair Sawday to be in its new Venue Guide for places to hold weddings, parties and other celebration functions. Sawadays Special Places to Stay features places that are a bit quirky, slightly unusual and offer a different experience to the normal venue. Later this year Strand House will appear in the Alastair Sawdays Special Places to Stay Hotel Guide 2011.

07 May 2010 | Japanese Garden at Strand House
We have been busy redesigning part of the garden into a Japanese 'stroll garden' creating a quiet relaxing area beside running water and will provide a stunning photo opportunity for our guests especially wedding couples. The garden has been built and designed by local company Rhino Rock who specialise in Japanese gardens. Hugh is a member of the Japanese Garden Society and was one of the team who built their Gold Medal garden at Chelsea Flower show in 2004.
