Lovely dog friendly hotel rooms in Rye

Strand House has a number of dog friendly rooms on the ground floor with access to the garden through patio doors, there is the Inglenook in the Tudor house and the Rye and Hastings rooms in Rye Bay Cottage.There are other rooms suitable for small and medium sized dogs so please call us if these three rooms appear booked. If you wish to breakfast along with your dog, we lay up tables in the garden in fine weather or can deliver a breakfast to your room for brekafast in bed. The Royal Military Canal offers an ideal walking area and is only 75m from our front gate or you can walk round Winchelsea which has dog bins. Parts of Winchelsea Beach  and the Nature Reserve at Rye Harbour are open all year round to dog walking.

There are plenty of places to visit which allow dogs, a good trip is to visit Tenterden which has Chapel Down vineyard, travel on the Kent & East Sussex Railway to go and see Bodiam Castle and finish up with Battle Abbey and a quick walk through the Forestry Commission land at Great Battle Wood. On another day you could take in Hastings Fishermans Museum, Newhaven Fortress and Military Museum and finish off at the Seven Sisters Country Park.

Eating out is easy as the three local pubs both welcome dogs - the New Inn at Winchelsea and the Queens Head at Icklesham and the Plough at Cock Marling and restaurants in Rye include the Ship Inn, the Globe in Marsh and Ypres Castle while many teashops allow dogs such as Haydens, Edith's House and the Cobbles.
